Connect the pieces.

An integration has two sides and several ways to fail. PrimeCircuit keeps the client, external service and response-handling work in a connected project workspace.

Make the external catalog fit your application's contract

A catalog request can succeed while still returning data your application cannot use. In PrimeCircuit, open the project folder and start a conversation about the client code, the expected product fields and the screen that consumes them. Ask for an inspection of that path before proposing changes, with a sanitized response as context.

From there, define what the integration should accept. A useful task might separate an empty catalog from a failed request, reject records without identifiers and preserve the distinction between a missing price and zero. Review where the proposed edits place those checks, so unexpected provider data does not silently become valid application state.

Failure handling needs the same attention as field mapping. Discuss timeout behavior, malformed JSON and rate-limit responses alongside the normal result. Before accepting retry logic, check whether repeating the request is safe and how the application stops trying. Run your project's checks against representative responses, including failures, and inspect what reaches the interface.

PrimeCircuit is a Windows coding workspace where you configure a supported OpenAI-compatible or Anthropic endpoint. If you are exploring unrestricted AI models for this work, selection depends on what that endpoint offers; restrictions, context limits and tool support remain model- and server-dependent. Keep the integration's acceptance criteria explicit whichever model you connect, and review its proposed code before relying on it.

Before changing your API client

What should I provide for an external catalog task?

Identify the request code, the internal product shape and the consumer that needs the result. Include sanitized success and failure examples, then describe which missing fields should reject a record and which may use a default.

Does a successful HTTP response prove the catalog is valid?

No. Check parsing and the fields your application actually depends on. A response can have a successful status yet contain an unexpected object, an invalid identifier or a price with the wrong type. Review those boundaries separately.

Should I ask for retries on every failed request?

Specify retryable failures, a stopping condition and the behavior shown after exhaustion. For requests that change remote data, establish whether repetition is safe before adding retries; a timeout alone does not establish that the operation failed.

Can I use a local model when working with API credentials?

A local endpoint requires a separately running model server. It does not make external services or every connected tool local. Remove real credentials from shared examples and review where prompts, project context and service requests will be sent.
